Rep. Melissa Bean IL8 sends in the thug **EDIT**

The face of a Thugocracy. I watched this video about 15 minutes ago, and I am still shaken by the naked agression in the face of that big guy. I can't believe what I just saw. How DARE she! She acted like she was at an AA meeting with all her concern about people's privacy. It was a PUBLIC meeting with a PUBLIC official, for crying out loud.
I was saddened to notice there weren't very many objectors to Lurch roaming around the meeting though, so perhaps the inimidation did work, although the phrase "win the battle, but lose the war" comes to mind. Just a note: I sure hope none of the congresscritters pull a stunt like that down here--we tend to be a rowdy bunch anyway and damned sure wouldn't allow that sort of intimidation.
November is coming. We are ready.

On Thursday, August 12, I was there at the meeting with Representative Melissa Bean (IL-8) that was held at the Round Lake Library. The meeting was billed as a Financial Education seminar to teach citizens how to manage their credit card debt. What happened at this meeting was anything but educational. During the meeting, which I attended, citizens started to ask questions about jobs, government spending and the federal deficit. As you can see from the video, every time a citizen would attempt to ask a question, Melissa Bean’s THUG, who we were told worked for the Round Lake Library, would walk over to that person and hover over them to intimidate them. This is exactly what was shown in the video even though it has been edited. The THUG was not bending down to reading anything. He was bending over a person who was asking Bean a question to intimidate her. I was about 6 feet away and saw it all. This Thug exhibited the same behavior which went on during the course of the entire meeting without Bean saying a word about the blatant intimidation she knew her constituents must be feeling.
It is obvious from Bean’s obfuscation that she chose this type of forum so she would not have to answer any direct questions about her voting record. Instead of having an open Town hall forum where citizens are free to have a dialogue with their Representative, Bean chose to have a representative from the Illinois State Treasury come in and lecture her constituents on how they should pay down their credit card debt and start saving. How ironic when the Federal Government has spent over 13 Trillion dollars and the majority of the states are on the verge of bankruptcy
I, along with many others in attendance, felt that every attempt to ask Bean a question was either “shut down” by Bean personally or through the intimidation tactics of her THUG. Is this the type of “transparency” we were promised? Why does Bean feel that Thuggery is acceptable?

Location of proposed site for Ground Zero Mosque

Mr. President, should they or should they not build a mosque steps away from where radical Islamists killed 3000 people? Please tell us your position. We all know that they have the right to do it, but should they? And, no, this is not above your pay grade.
If those who wish to build this Ground Zero mosque are sincerely interested in encouraging positive "cross-cultural engagement" and dialogue to show a moderate and tolerant face of Islam, then why haven't they recognized that the decision to build a mosque at this particular location is doing just the opposite? Mr. President, why aren't you encouraging the mosque developers to accept Governor Paterson's generous offer of assistance in finding a new location for the mosque on state land if they move it away from Ground Zero? Why haven't they jumped at this offer? Why are they apparently so set on building a mosque steps from what you have described, in agreement with me, as "hallowed ground"? I believe these are legitimate questions to ask.

Obama Defends Ground Zero Mosque

Shocked. Stunned. Horrified. Disgusted. Furious. I didn't believe he would bow to this level of obsequious dhimnitude. But, he has. Thank you, Emperor Obama for finally undeniably removing the last traces of doubt about just whose side you are on in this global struggle against the tyranny of jihad.

"President Barack Obama on Friday endorsed plans for a Muslim mosque two blocks from ground zero in New York City, declaring that “Muslims have the same right to practice their religion as anyone else in this country.” Is he so stupid as to honestly believe this is about preventing Muslims from practicing their religion? Why is he deliberately misleading with that statement? Is that his message to the rest of the world who may not understand fully America's staunch committment to protecting the right to worship---that he is standing up for the rights of Muslims? Is he trying to curry favor in ohh say Iran?





He has forgotten September 11, 2001. He has forgotten that our countrymen died horrible, frightening deaths because of Islamic terrorists. He is the enemy of freedom loving Americans.

Let me just say that I do not believe that to simply stop shopping at these places is as effective as a organizing a letter writing campaign within your parish or community asking them to stop funding Planned Parenthood. I never want to see a company close down because of lack of business--companies hire folks from my community, I don't want to see them out of work either. However, if the letter campaign fails to convicne them, then it is time to take your business elsewhere.

A pro-life group has released its revised edition of a boycott list of corporations which support Planned Parenthood, the world’s largest pro-abortion group. New companies on its list include AOL, Hilton hotels, Staples, Trader Joe’s, and Toys “R” Us.

Life Decisions International (LDI) said new additions also include the Mrs. Fields cookie stores, Kohl’s department stores, and the ING financial services company. Darden Restaurants, which include Bahama Breeze, The Capital Grille, Olive Garden and Red Lobster, have been added to the list along with Ignite Restaurants which include Brickhouse Tavern + Tap and Joe’s Crab Shack.
Hilton Worldwide hotels include Conrad Hotels, Doubletree, Embassy Suites, Hampton Inns/Suites, and Homewood Suites.

Reappearing on LDI’s boycott list are The Gap and the federal government-sponsored mortgage corporation Freddie Mac.

Corporations with a continuing presence on the boycott list include Wells Fargo, Nike, Time Warner, Bank of America, Walt Disney, Johnson & Johnson, Chevron, and Nationwide Insurance.

"As a direct result of the commitment, action and prayers of pro-family people, at least 256 corporations have stopped funding Planned Parenthood," said Kenneth C. Garvey, director of communications at LDI. "This should serve as a testament to those who thought it impossible to change corporate philanthropic behavior."

LDI estimates that the boycott has cost Planned Parenthood more than $40 million since the pro-life group’s Corporate Funding Project began more than 17 years ago.

Garvey criticized pro-life organizations which continue to use PayPal despite its owner eBay being targeted for boycott.

“Most pro-life groups are aware that it is a boycott target because it has funded Planned Parenthood, but they have consciously chosen to continue doing business with the company. Doing so is indefensible," he charged.

The LDI official said alternatives to PayPal exist and he would help anyone who has difficulty finding them.

"Corporate officials are learning that those who value life are among the most dedicated people on earth. We will not go away until corporate involvement with Planned Parenthood comes to an end," commented LDI chairman Thomas C. Strobhar.

The LDI Boycott List also includes a “dishonorable mention” section for charitable groups associated with Planned Parenthood or its agenda. Listed groups include the Lions Clubs, Kiwanis Clubs, Rotary Clubs, the Boys & Girls Clubs, Camp Fire Girls and Girl Scouts.
The American Cancer Society, the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Easter Seals, Ronald McDonald House Charities, YWCA and YMCA are listed, as are the Salvation Army and the charity America Gives Back, which is associated with the television show American Idol
