Picture 9

This is a blue iris that lives long side my driveway. It really put on a show a few years ago. I look forward to this year, maybe it will treat me to an encore.
I'm used to seeing iris in purple, white or pink...this sky blue iris is a real treasure.

Picture 8

This was taken in a city near here. I was walking along minding my own business and just happened to glance over to my right and I stopped so suddenly a couple of guys behind me had to hop skip and jump to keep from running over me. At first I was annoyed the tree broke up the symmetry of the balls in a line, then I realized its a pretty good metaphor for how I look at the world...alot of order and form and shape...with a nice tree thrown in the middle for good measure.
So, that's why I like this picture :D

Picture 7

Ok, I'm struggling--and technically it is Monday, but since I haven't been to bed on Sunday---I'm posting Sunday's picture. This is a stream in the Smokey Mountains near Gatlinburg. My husband and I spend a weekend up there this fall to celebrate our 25th anniversary. The trees in the middle of the shot reminds me of the "peace" sign that I used to flash when I was a kid.
We had a marvelous time.

Picture 6 (on time)

Hehehe, Ok, I'm posting today's picture TODAY--yay for me. This is a Christmas Dragon that we saw on our walk along the river...See his Santa hat? Nice huh?
Walking along the river to see the lights has become our family tradition. We always go at least once during the season. We've walked on clear, cold nights. We've walked in light rain, and even after a sleet storm once..that was really neat with the lights encased in ice.

Wow..I sucked again..Picture 5

Wow...I've discovered that I am totally horrible at keeping my committment to just come here and post a silly picture. Interesting insight I think--because I like to think of myself as good ole reliable..anyway, heres my picture for yesterday.

I took it this past December through a chain link fence with a nighttime exposure, pretty good I think.

My family and I went for a walk along the river to see all the decorations and sip hot apple cider, because it was mighty cold that night...at least for a bunch of southerners!

Ok, picture 4

I'm caught up now yay! Hah..two in one day... I'm really getting my groove on with this posting stuff. Do you like this picture? I snapped it in the mission(on the ceiling) at Tubac, AZ last spring. My sisters and my dad and I went to the Mariachi festival and had a great time. I was fascinated by this design on the ceiling, hand drawn of course in the stucco.

Ok, I managed two days in a row before I fell off the committment wagon---hahaha....but in my own defense, I was pooped and went to bed early. This is a statue of Mary at my dad's house. If you look closely at her cape you can see the scorched paint. That is a reminder of the wildfires that swept across Oklahoma a few years ago. However, interesting to note...the fire parted and went right around the little flower bed where this statue lives. When surrounded by total devastation, it was heartening to see a reminder of God's ever present hand in the world. Yes, I know...I know...there's probably a sound scientific reason why the fire didn't burn etc..etc...but, not in my mind. :)

Picture -Day 2

This is a picture of a wild flower in the meadow in front of my dad's house. I don't know it's proper name, naming birds and flowers isn't someting I spend much time doing. Sure, it is important, but, not something I do. To get this shot I had to crouch in the tall grass and wait for the breeze to die down...and fend off Mama Cat who insisted on rubbing her head against my elbow. So I balanced myself in a squat(not an easy feat for me...I heard my knees cracking all the way down) and this is the result.
